A direct order of the most pleasant sort, handcrafted by an Amish craftsman known around Lancaster County as Rusty Merv. Merv himself cuts the sheet steel, then applies a rust-red weatherproof paint finish for the patina of a vintage flea-market collectible. 58"W x 20-1/2"H.

The sign is perfect and fits our family room decor beautifully. It is a bright red with just a hint of orange. It was easy to hang - we used black screws which are visible up close, but add to the industrial look. The only improvement I would suggest is adding another hanging hole at the bottom of the "t". The piece does pull away from the wall there, instead of lying flat, creating a slight shadow when the lights are on in that space - but it is a minor detail and does not detract from the overall effect.

This "gather" sign makes me happy! I use it to signify the gathering of my loved ones in my home ... and hang their photos under the sign. I had this sign in our home which burned to the ground last fall. I feel lucky to be able to replace it along with some of the photos we saved. It is well made and easy to hang.

and then I realized how to gather them! Actually, having just moved into a new home, I was looking for just the right accent pieces to pull everything together. My gather sign hangs proudly on a wall in the living room, so the first thing guests see when they walk through the door is this greeting. My husband has teasingly asked me when I am getting signage for the bedroom and bathroom -- but I can't print what he thinks those should say. Love this piece!

My decorating style is traditional tacky and the ''gather'' looked great in my living room. Because it is not a barn red the color was the same as I already have around in rugs, etc. I am pleased to say the least.

I HAVE HAD MY EYE ON THE "GATHER SIGN" SINCE I FIRST SAW IT IN THE CATALOG. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I WAITED TO LONG TO BUY IT. WE HAVE 14 FOOT CEILINGS IN OUR KITCHEN AND I PUT IT PROUDLY ABOVE MY MESSAGE BOARD. IT FILLED IN SOME SPACE, COMPLIMENTED MY PINE WOOD CEILING THATS STAINED RED AND ADDED A TON OF UNIQUE AWESOMENESS TO OUR HOME. RUSTY MERV YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. She liked it very much. It was much lighter than I expected however that turned out to be a good thing once hung. The only negative was the end of the r was sticking out of the box 3 inches when delivered and was bent. This could be fixed with a little additional packaging to dull the edge. We bent it back and my wife thought it added to the rustic look. All good.

While I was a little surprised at how thin and flimsy this was, it shores up nicely once it's hung. I didn't want it to be flat against the wall (seemed a wee boring) so I purchased some 1" galvanized spacers from our hardware store. Because the metal is a bit flimsy (therefore, the sign bends fairly easy) we ended up using 9-10 spacers total...5 behind the pre-drilled holes, and another 4-5 in random other spots that needed it. The spacers were only a couple bucks and really make the piece pop off the wall. I LOVE the way this looks!

I was surprised to see just how big this really is! I really like the quirky shape of the letters. Hanging it is a two person job, not because it is heavy, but its size is a bit awkward. We used rubber spacers to offset it from the wall. One word of caution! Although the sign arrived well packaged in double cardboard, when I cut the tape on the inner layer, I sliced through to the sign itself, creating a long thin score on the finish. A word of warning, or an additional layer protecting it would be good. I debated returning it, but then decided that it added to the "patina".
