I am glad I didn't read the previous reviews! After getting it out of the plastic bag it came in, I puffed it out and put some paper in it. I thought it looked great for what I wanted for my husband's Christmas present. He is an historian and reads a great deal, as well as being a rugged naturalist. He loved it and immediately put his books that I had purchased as another present in it. It actually looks good next to his very high-end Holland and Holland duffels. We love Sundance!

Nice bag but not what I was expecting. The photo which is above & what attracted me looked more like swede & leather vs the canvass like material. I'm keeping it but am not as happy as had hoped.

I expected the materials to be much more substantial, based on the photos. The biggest disappointment was the zipper - nylon, not metal. The first time it was stressed by the contents of the bag, it separated. Not exactly what I had in mind, for a bag that I did not expect to have to treat with kid gloves.
